Removing Symantec Endpoint Protection from Your Mac

Before You Begin

Before you start the removal process, it's essential to save any work you're currently doing as the system will need to restart once the script is complete. You should also be aware that the removal process may prompt you for several things and will ask you for administrative credentials before it proceeds.

The Removal Process

To begin the removal process, follow these steps:

1. Enter Administrative Credentials: You will then be prompted for your local Mac username and password when prompted.

2. Continue Removing Symantec System Extensions: After entering your credentials, you should see a prompt to continue removing Symantec system extensions.

3. Allow JAMF Access to Control Finder: You may then be prompted to allow JAMF access to control Finder.

4. Save and Restart: Once you're alerted that the script is about to begin, please save any work as the system will need to restart once the script is complete.

What to Expect During the Removal Process

As you progress through the removal process, you'll encounter several screens and steps. Here's what you can expect:

* Symantec Endpoint Protection Uninstall Window: The 'Symantec Endpoint Protection Uninstall' window will appear.

* Uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection: With the Symantec Endpoint Protection window in view and selected, go to the top right of the menu bar and click Symantec Endpoint Protection, then click Uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection.
